Aperitivo Time: Caipirinha

Since vowing to write about canapés, crostini AND aperitivi, I've completely neglected the latter.
So, for an ideal Friday thirst-quencher, I present to you the Caipirinha; the most refreshing Brazilian cocktail, and my personal favourite.
There are no cordial cover-ups. This is simply the spirit Cachaça with a healthy dose of sugar, and juicy, crushed lime.
Perhaps my decoration of fresh mint is a little unauthentic, but when did a few extra greens ever do anyone harm?
🧊 Makes 1 Caipirinha
1 lime
2 heaped tsp light muscovado sugar
50 ml cachaça
enough ice cubes to fill whatever glass you're using
1. Cut your lime into quarters and generously crush in the glass with the end of a rolling pin.
2. Add your sugar and mix together.
3. Fill your glass with ice cubes.
4. Pour in your cachaça.
5. Give it all a good stir.
6. Decorate with a few sprigs of fresh mint.
